I took care of my basically bed ridden diabetic mother for 9 months. I am a people person and love the wisdom of the elderly. I have been caregiver to several senior citizens for 3 years. One had severe Dementia and had broken his hip. 2 of them could be pretty grumpy at times. I have the patience and ability to remain respectful no matter how I am treated. I was caregiver to a 58-year-old who survived Sudden Cardiac Death and later a stroke. She was doing well physically but suffered from Aphasia which was quite challenging at times. She would also have anxiety attacks occasionally. I was caregiver for over a year to an 80-year-old that had many physical problems including a Colostomy. I have a heart for caregiving. I have high respect for families keeping their loved ones at home rather than putting them in an institution.
