Hello! My name is Audrey and I'm a sophomore at a college in Franklin. I love working with people with special needs and would like to continue to do so throughout my life. I worked for a family last year, taking their mostly nonverbal autistic son to school 1-2 times a week as well as occasionally helping with whole-family outings. I also volunteered at a week long Joni&Friends family camp working with a teen girl with a long list of both mental and physical issues. Although challenging, I was very grateful for the opportunity to love on her and her family at camp. I then did a weekend adult retreat with J&F and was partnered with a young woman with Downs. After these experiences, I'm comfortable with most disabilities and needs. I'd love the chance to serve more people who struggle with these things.
