Atusa is amazing. She has been working with my 5th grader for the past 6 months. He struggles with executive function & organizational skills as well as ADHD and she helps him with his homework while teaching him strategies to manage his work and keep himself focussed. She is extremely patient but firm when she needs to be. She comes up with creative solutions to address his challenges such as typing for him when his writing or typing can't keep up with the flow of his ideas. (She also started him on a Learn To Type program). In math, she has helped him understand it on a deeper level with an intensive and detailed exploration and practice of the concepts. When there is science or social studies homework, she sometimes comes with interesting video clips or articles to share. Oh and did I mention she's fun? My son loves Atusa because not only does he appreciate the help, but she brings fun stuff to do like juggling balls & weird musical instruments to play with during breaks.
