I am a mother of three children, ages 16, 13, and 9. I was a a stay-at-home mom for the 13 years before returning to the nanny workforce. I was nanny before I became a mom. I cared for 4 children, two of the children were under the age of 1 and the others were 3 and 5 when I started with them. I also worked for preschools in both Bedford and Grapevine. I have a lot of experience with infants. I was a full-time employee in the infant room and cared for four infants at a time that were my responsibility only, while working at The Children's Courtyard in Grapevine. My youngest was 6 weeks old and the oldest was 9 months. While caring for my own kids I cared for my nephew' s daughter, age 9 months, and I have kept my niece' s son since he was a newborn. I'm the aunt that they always call when needing a night out. My girls love playing with them too so they are a big help when they are home. I don' t have any concerns with pets. We are dog lovers here and have labs. Watching an infant at my home is a possibility in the right situation. My first position with Care. com started in the fall of 2013 with a 4-month-old. This family has left an excellent review on my profile so please check it out (I still speak with them today). I built such a wonderful relationship with their son and their family that when they were ready to place him in preschool they passed me on to a brother in the family. He and his wife had a 3-month-old that I have been caring for since Nov. 2014. Unfortunately he too is joining his cousins in daycare so my job is coming to an end. When it comes to babies I have the patience, knowledge and experience that you can only get from being a mom. Obviously the additional time with infants has helped immensely. It helps to have a more mature nanny that knows how to recognize when a baby is not acting quite right and may be getting sick, what developmental milestones they should be reaching and when, and what each cry means.
