About Ashley

I've worked at summer camps as camp counselor for 8+ summers, three summers at the Maritime Education network, in Old Saybrook, and then six more summers spent at Camp Hazen YMCA, in Chester CT, where I received a lot of training and experience working with a range of children and teens, from ages 5-16 years in various situations and engaging with kids to participate in all the different activities camp has to offer. I also have 4-5 years of teaching experience in schools as a substitute, lead teacher and floating teacher at daycares, currently I'm working at YMCA Camp Mountain Laurel in Hamden as the arts and crafts program specialist. As for dogs, I've had two dogs of my own and love all dogs! I've been housesitting and dog sitting since 2020 for my family friends who trust me to take good care of their fur baby who needs meds! I can be calming or silly but most importantly, I'm always caring and loving!
