Hello! I've been a nanny for 10 years and I have had the opportunity to work with a toddler that has moderate autism during that time. I would follow anything his speech therapist told me and his parents to do to further improve his speech and I became very good at redirecting him and trying to find ways to soothe him. I knew just how he liked things which gave him comfort and I learned a lot from this experience! Ever since I've been very interested in working with more individuals with special needs.
