Ashlee cared for my Mom recently for the last 3-4 months of her life. My Mom had an aggressive motor-neuron disease PSP (very similar to ALS). My Mom fell in love with Ashlee during her interview, and it was the best decision we made to hire her. By the time Ashlee starting caring for my Mom, she was no longer walking and had no use of her arms or hands. Her speech was also declining and it was becoming very difficult to understand her. This could make it hard for someone new to get to know my Mom and form a relationship, but Ashlee did not let that get in the way. She came up with different ways for my Mom to spell words, even singing the ABC's if she had to. Ashlee instantly became part of our family, and we all depended on her so much. On top of providing excellent care for my Mom throughout a terrible disease, she could always make my Mom smile and laugh everyday, something I'm so thankful for especially during those last few months of her life. We wish we had found Ashlee so much sooner, but we're so thankful for the time we had her. Ashlee stayed with us right up until my Mom's last day in hospice, providing support to us all. Any family would be so blessed to have Ashlee taking care of their loved one.
