About Asher

I love tutoring because of how rewarding it is to help someone practice, learn, and grow. Rather than punishment for not understanding, I believe in learning that celebrates progress along the way and involves patience and self-confidence as part of the process. This way, students feel like they've really earned it when they meet their goals! I started tutoring when "playing teacher" with my stuffed animals as a toddler. But I was tutoring in earnest by the time I was a teen -- as the oldest of three, I always helped my younger siblings through their math, English, and French classes growing up. And I love education still today! In my spare time, I like to read, be outdoors, and cook big meals for friends.
