About Ashelyn

I like working with kids because every child is so different and it's so much fun getting to view the world through their eyes! I am constantly learning how to care for and teach different types of children with each child I get the opportunity to meet! I started working with kids when I was 13 years old and volunteering at a church daycare during the summer, caring for kids 4 months to 5 years of age. Once I turned 18 and started college, I started working with an after school care program for college faculty/staff children (4y/o to 11y/o), and have since cared for kids as young as 2 months and as old as 13 years, including multiple sets of twins (fraternal and identical), children with autism, non-verbal children, and children diagnosed with ADHD. One thing you should know about me is more than half of my college classes were education related, including early childhood development and lesson/activity planning, so if I see any opportunities for learning, I try my best to take it!
