I have been a caregiver for 10 years. I've worked in Assisted living facilities, Home Health Agencies, as well as Alzheimer's and hospice facilities. I became a caregiver because my mother did it and I followed in her foot steps not realizing I'd love it and have a passion for it. It's more than just helping someone. The work I do as a caregiver essentially helps someone regain their independence as well as building trust in the world again. I enjoy helping someone to the point of where I can see them eventually start doing for themselves again or even just a simple smile when they've been down for so long. Most of my experience has been with children and the elder community. I took a break a year ago and began working with troubled teens.
