Most recently, I have been caregiver for dementia patients for the past year, professionally . Before that, I took care of my mom for eight years after her stroke, and my dad (who had dementia), for four years until his passing in 2023 at age 99. My mission for both of them was for them to have fun every day of their lives, stay hydrated and engaged. I also worked as a Nurses Aid in a hospital in Sweden for 1 year, and then 1 1/2 years I worked in the Swedish Hem Varden, which supplies care to seniors in their homes. Care provided, dependent on need; bathing and dressing, shopping, transportation, walks, meal prep, house cleaning, companionship, etc.. My skills include helping to motivate, being proactive, great problem solving skills and an ability to notice changes in someone's health or mental well being quickly. I'm very reliable and have excellent computer skills and organizational skills. I'm also knowledgeable in preventive natural care and healthy food cooking.

If you want a caretaker who treats your loved one as you would, you should hire Arlene. She has provided care for our father with Dementia for around three months and she has truly gone above and beyond. She makes sure he stays physically and mentally active to slow the onset of the dementia, has incorporated social engagement into his life, takes him to doctors appointments and physical therapy, oversees his hygiene, grocery shops and cooks, helps with taking care of his two dogs, and generally manages the administrative aspects of his life. We have had other caretakers that do the job, but she takes initiative and stays on top of everything so we don't have to worry about the ball being dropped on something. She has been a true blessing to our family.
