My name is Ariel. I am an energetic 29-year-old and mother of 2. I was hired as a nanny from care. com in college for a boy with Down Syndrome and occasionally watched his sister as well. The family and I grew very close, and we continue to be friends! I would take him to the park, public pool, zoo, and lake while assisting him in learning ADLs (communication, motor skills, etc). He was very active, and it was always a joy spending time with him! I have experience with children of all ages, including those with ADHD. I have watched as many as 8 children at once from 1-18 years old. I have volunteered as a children's church teacher and youth leader. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have worked in the mental health field for 4. 5 years now which has enhanced my understanding of various personalities (population includes schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bi-polar, personality, and co-occuring disorders) as well as working with adults with Autism/Asperger's Syndrome.
