About Ariel

I am a charismatic and energetic individual with a passion for educating and mentoring children. I enjoy connecting and interacting with new people while learning and exploring adventurous and exiting new endeavors as well as bringing individual potential out in those I encounter. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas in the South Gate area where I attended Roberts Elementary School, followed by Duchesne Academy and finally graduated from Incarnate Word Academy. I have had experience since the age of 14, babysitting multiple children within my neighborhood. During my time at Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia, studying Early Childhood Education, I have had experience volunteering with the Atlanta Public Schools with multiple elementary schools mostly with children at the kindergarten age level. I have had previous internship opportunities with the Uncommon Schools in Newark New Jersey, where I taught and managed a classroom of 15. I have also worked with the Raising Expectations Program where I mentored and tutored middle-school boys and girls in math. From these experiences, I have learned patience as well as sharpened my ability to effectively interact with many different learning abilities and personalities of multiple children. In my free time, I love to travel and enjoy all aspects of the arts. I can also cook a variety of different meals ranging from breakfast to dinner. I am also conversational in Spanish and I speak some French. I am also a beginner in American Sign Language.
