About April

My appreciation for seniors started at a young age with my mother who worked at a nursing home as a recreation director. This gave us the opportunity to spend lots of time volunteering. I went on to culinary school, and after graduating and working in a variety of high end bakeries and restaurants, found myself working at Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community's Culinary department. During the pandemic I transferred to memory care doing activities. I found fulfillment in getting to know the residents to provide a sense of independence, purpose and fun. Last Year I moved to Hendersonville and took a position as a therapist for children with autism. Although gratifying, I am looking for work to supplement and utilize my culinary background and care taking skills. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my loved ones and pets, garden, play flute and exercise. My skills include cooking, cleaning, running errands, pet care, gardening and most importantly companionship.
