Hi! I'm April! I've been working with kids for as long as I can remember. My mom used to have 5+ kids at your house each day from when I was in kindergarten up until I graduated high school! Our house was always the most social, and being the oldest I was always caring for the younger kids. I also worked as a camp counselor at Camp Homelani on north shore during the summer of 2021. I worked with kids 7-14 for 8 weeks throughout the summer, being their caretaker from Monday morning when they arrived to Friday morning when they left. I received two degrees, one in Secondary Education and one in Spanish. I spent my student teaching semester in a middle school Spanish classroom, and long-term subbed for 4 months after graduating in the same classroom when my teacher went on maternity leave. I substituted in Kansas while finishing college, and subbed at Ewa Makai Middle school this last school year as as well before subbing at an ESL school in town during the summer.
