I have experience with full wheelchair/bed bound clients, transfers, dementia, parkinsons, bathing/dressing, ostomy care, wound care/bed sores, med prep/admin, meal prep/feeding, housekeeping, bills, errands, appointments. I found April in the midst of a challenging time with my parents, who needed immediate in-home caregiving. From the first time I met April, she displayed genuine care. We had a deep discussion about all of the details. She listened, she could relate based on years of experience in the field, and she had a proactive posture of wanting to help. From day one she maintained a completely caring demeanor, helping my parents with support 5 days per week. This included everything from helping with medical care, shopping and meal prep, calendaring and appointment assistance, household organization, as well as companionship. They found a great routine and my parents trusted April and valued the relationship greatly. In addition to being a genuinely caring person, there are a few other things that make her exceptional at her job. She is one of the most organized people I know, she is accountable and always shows up, she is highly communicative, and she is positive and motivating even when times are tough. All traits that are important when someone is caring for your loved ones. There are countless times where April went above and beyond. And in many ways, April has been like family. And any family would be lucky to have her as a caregiver in their lives!
