I started off in this field my junior year of college, which is when I grew very passionate about this field. I really fell in love with interacting with people and making a difference. I enjoyed working in a family oriented environment. I worked as a direct care aide/supervisor for two years with special needs individuals. For the past two years I have been a Special Education Teacher's Assistant. I currently work as a Para Educator in a special needs class.

Hired Antwon after a great interview. His first shift went great. He even took notes on how best to take care of me and the house. He did such a great job. He was personable, hardworking, and just a lovely guy all around. But he missed his 2nd shift. I kindly explained to him that I am paralyzed from the chest down, and I am 100% dependent on his care, and I need him to show up for scheduled sessions. So he came the next time. Did a great job again. And then he missed his 4th shift. So 50% of the time, he was a no-show. I just can't depend on unreliable people. So, I just didn't plan anything more with him, and tried to find a different caregiver. He reached out a few times after that, asking if I needed help, but I kindly said no, because I was actually out of town. But when I came back, I was so desperate for help that I tried reaching reach out to Antwon, and he never even responded. Never even read the message (he had read receipts). Anyway, It's such a shame because he really seemed like such a wonderful person, I liked him a lot, and he was so great around my 14 year old son. But, I just cannot depend on unreliable people, especially with my limitations and challenges. What a shame, I really enjoyed him when he was here.
