Antoinette (Dee for short) was assigned to care for my father and stepmother through an agency. My dad had the final say of who cared for them both. As a retired doctor, he was very particular when it came to their caregivers. If he did not feel they were competent or he did not like their personality, work ethic or attitude, then they were asked not to return or to be replaced. Both my father and his wife adored Dee. She always arrived to her shift with a smile on her face and a cheery attitude. She has a personality that lights up a room. She had no issues with taking my stepmother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, out to the store or park or running other errands if needed. Her duties included cooking, light housekeeping, personal care, dressing, preparing for bed and assistance in feeding my stepmother. At times my stepmother required a lot of patience due to some instances of stubbornness, especially when it came to bedtime. Dee was always able to work her magic and encourage cooperation from her with a smile. Dee provided personal care for both, while always providing them each respect and dignity in doing so. Dee is a thoughtful caregiver, thinking about the likes and dislikes of her clients and how she can make their day special. Dee’s employment only ended due to my stepmother requiring 24 hour care and then several months later my father passing. I have been in the caregiver field for 37 years and I have no hesitation in recommending Dee for any family member who may need extra care and companionship in their home or elsewhere.
