About Anne

I have worked one on one with campers, some of which were seniors, at Mount Hood Kiwanis Camp, as a camp counselor, which provided me with valuable, hands-on experience both in working with individuals with disabilities as well as seniors. I treated the campers with respect and compassion while I assisted adults with disabilities in all camping activities and personal care. I learned transport and first aid skills. We utilized people first language and listening techniques. I supported other camp counselors in a team environment. Our goal was for all campers to be included in all activities regardless of age or disability. I recently received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University, and I have taken several courses focused on Psycho-social Perspectives on Disabilities. I was a teaching assistant (TA) for an older professor at Portland State University with a physical disability.
