About Anne

Throughout my life, I have worked as a tutor. In high school, I tutored underprivileged children in a local community center. Many of these students had been held back, learned English as a second language, or had undiagnosed learning disabilities. This past year, I was happy to accept a position as a Teachers Assistant for the Geneseo Sociology Department. I gained confidence in the classroom by teaching college level lectures and tutoring. As a TA I learned what teachers look for when grading, which helped me pinpoint where students needed improvement. Having worked as a camp counselor and nanny for the past three summers, I realize that teens and children are most likely to succeed when they are comfortable. I believe my up-beat and easy-going personality helps me be more flexible in my approach to tutoring, and I hope to engage students by modifying my style too fit their interests and finding out what works best for them!
