I started working with children as a volunteer in the nursery at my church during services and other church activities. This included working with infants to three - 4-year-olds under the supervision of an adult employee of the church. Before I was able to begin volunteering at St. Stephens, I was required to complete a child abuse awareness and prevention training program called "Safeguarding God's Children." Since then, I have had babysitting jobs for families and friends, ranging from a couple of hours, to 8 hour days when I took care of 2 children while their mother was out of town and their father worked during the day. My experience includes taking care of infants aged 6 months or older, toddlers, and younger children, but I am willing to watch children up to 13 years old.
