While I was student teaching at Birmingham-Southern College, one of the teachers asked me if I was interested in tutoring/nannying a student in the class. His parents started Mitchell's Place here in Birmingham, and I have loved getting to know him and his family over the years! Upon graduation, I taught students with special needs in an inclusive classroom. Treating everyone with dignity and providing nurturing care are two of my passions!
