I have the most experience working with kids and teens on the autism spectrum. I worked with two autistic boys in a preschool classroom setting when I was an assistant teacher, and I have taught musical theater in an after school program to kids with special needs. I also regularly babysit a girl with ADHD and food allergies. As a person with food allergies myself, I am great at following strict guidelines, while also being calm, generous and understanding. The other teachers at one of the preschools I worked at were amazed that I got one of the autistic boys to nap because he never did with them. I believe this was because I was patient and kindly guided him to his designated napping area. I love working with all sorts of kids, but I do especially like working with kids with special needs. A diagnosis does not define a person and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each individual I work with.

Anna worked with 15-month-old- 8-year-old children at our child care center for several summers and vacations. Anna has a lovely manner with the children. She is very skilled in the arts and engages well with the children. Anna is responsible, reliable and dependable. The children and the staff enjoyed having Anna at our center. Anna is always open to learning ways to improve her skills. It was a pleasure having Anna as a part of the team.
