Experience: 10 yrs
Hello, thank you for considering me to work with your family. I come with years of experience working with children of all ages, needs, and abilities. I am nurturing and caring. I have experience working with multiple kids so juggling the daily routine won't be an issue. I am a nonsmoker, certified in both CPR and First Aid, and have reliable transportation. I have three grown sons and one energetic granddaughter. I enjoy building connections with the children that I work with while finding ways to create fun as they grow and learn. I am very active and find that being outside and exploring nature (when the weather permits) creates opportunities for discovery and learning. Basically, I pride myself in assisting my family to find ways to make their days run a little smoother, which brings me joy and satisfaction into my work. I look forward to meeting your family and seeing if we are well fit.

Angie looked after our son with Down Syndrome from 8 months to 3.5 years old. She is kind, fun, patient, and holds firm boundaries with the kids. She followed all of the practices and rules we had in place: following AAP safe sleep guidelines, cutting solid foods properly for safe consumption, and no screen time. Angie was curious about learning more about DS and how she could better tend to and interact with our son. She always presumed competence and treated our him the same way she would any other kid. She incorporated his OT, PT, and speech goals in her day to day play with him. She is very knowledgeable about child development and has many years of experience working with children with disabilities. Angie is easy to work with and flexible with schedules. She became family over the 2.5 years we spent together. I still call her my "Washington Mom". The only reason she stopped taking care of our son is because we moved out of the state. Losing her as part of our community was one of the greatest losses of leaving Washington. She set the bar for caregivers extremely high and it will be hard to replace. If you have the opportunity to work with her, do not pass it up!
