Angel was the best sitter we could have asked her for on our first time using Care.com! I’m just sad we couldn’t take her home with us our shy 1 year old loved her and didn’t want to see her go by the time the weekend was over!☺️ My husband and I had a short weekend trip to Palm Springs for a church sponsored marriage retreat. While we wanted to be able to spend time one on one we felt hesitant about leaving him overnight with family friends (like we usually do with our 14 year old, but she was spending the end of summer with grandparents at the time). Once I decided to go through with using Care.com (I’ve had this account since he was two months old and never could go through with “booking a sitter online”😨) I was hoping for the best with fingers crossed. Well my expectations were exceeded! Angel has is excellent about communicating which first put me at ease when we exchanged numbers and talk before hand (she asked all the right questions, was open about telling me about herself, background, goals, motivation for babysitting and qualifications). Once we arrived at the resort (late due to end of day traffic and last minute packing) I had given her our ETA she was there before we arrived! From there everything was seamless! She offered to help us carry things to the room (because she’s so sweet) but she and I just used that time to get acquainted and let baby boy get used to her. Thirty minutes later he didn’t even notice we had left as he played with her in the backyard area outside our room. When we returned they had done a walk around the resort, ate dinner, colored (with the coloring book and crayons that she brought for him, read books, and he was in pjs and almost asleep. The rest of the weekend went just as smoothly, and I appreciated how flexible she was with us in figuring out the scheduling of the seminars/events they had throughout the weekend. Saturday she was able to come for the afternoon, then back at after we did his evening routine which allowed us to attend the “Second Chance Prom” (our first prom together 😊). We were able to reconnect and the weekend was better than we could have ever expected; we didn’t have to worry about keeping baby boy occupied while trying to attend all the seminars and long stretches of sitting, and we got our alone time, all while being present for him as he’s still too young (FOR US to leave overnight). Angel gave us the piece of mind in knowing that he was cared for and we will for sure keep in touch for whenever we are in the Palm Springs area. 😊
