I like caring for special needs clients because I love having a job that truly makes a difference in people's lives. I am a very calm and level headed person who can handle just about anything with a smile. I pride myself on my ability to get along with people of all ages, from birth to elderly patients. My now 20-year-old son is on the autism spectrum, so I have personal experience with all that entails. My current afternoon client is on the spectrum as well. I've had many clients with Alzheimer's and other memory impairments and am comfortable with mental illnesses. I'm able to transfer patients and handle physical needs, such as mobility assistance, bed care, transfers and the use of a Hoyer lift.
