Being a special education aide I am responsible for each students safety. I assist them in making sure they are understanding their curriculum, create alternative solutions so the student is able and comfortable communicating their needs, use a creative process to come up with different activities that help the growth and success of each student in a way that is beneficial for them, as well as toileting, feeding (orally and gastronomy tube), and administering medication. Working as a job coach for adults with disabilities my main responsibilities include teaching life skills so that these individuals can become successful in their places of employment. I help them search for jobs, apply for jobs and the interview process. I also observe and assist when needed once they are employed and correct any behavior that may need some improvement as well as give praise and encouragement.
