About Andy

I have 10+ years of experience working with elementary school children in particular. The majority of that time I was a Teaching Assistant working with grades K-5, but mostly with 3rd and 5th graders. I currently work for the Y. M. C. A. as a teacher for transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st graders (4-6 years old). I earned a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential to teach elementary school but it has since lapsed; however, I gained invaluable experience through the process. I also have privately tutored kids from 3rd-7th grade, and worked at educational company Mathematics, an after school study program to enhance math and reading skills. Most importantly, I honestly enjoy working with children and helping them learn. I am extremely patient, and although I am focused on ensuring that they succeed, I work on making the process enjoyable for them so that they have the motivation and confidence to continue learning on their own.
