I have worked in a wide variety of settings with individuals who are special needs. I have worked as an assistant for three different childcare facilities that work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. From this experience, I conducted an array of tasks from feeding to prompting/redirecting. I have also been employed as a teacher's assistant working with individuals with autism in prekindergarten. I assisted the students with their lesson plans and helped develop curriculum. I have worked for provider agencies as a Direct Support Staff. Typically, I provided one to one supports to the individual in areas of need. Currently, I am a Resource Coordinator working with a government-contracted agency that provides services to individuals with DD. In this position, I complete Individual Plan packets and monitor the services of clients that have a wide range of disability from physical to intellectual.
