I retired early from teaching, and although I have had no formal training in senior care, I do have 7 years of experience. My mother was plagued with a variety of illnesses early on and unable to fully care for herself and the home. She was quite large, w/ limited mobility. One of my main tasks was to assist w/bathing. I assisted in keeping her meds organized, changed the bedsheets with her in it. In order to ease poor circulation in her legs, I massaged from the knees down regularly. I understand the emotional toll situations such as this take on families. I'm honest, not afraid of hard work, and compassionate and empathetic. As one grows older, becoming dependent on others for most everything, being able to maintain control over what might seem like small things means a lot, so I made it a point to be accommodating at all times.
