About Andrea

I ran my own childcare business in my home for 25 yrs. and am currently working as a "nanny"for the last 2 children who were at my house, after school. I cooked, read, sang, bounced, diapered, held and calmed 5 children 5 days a week, 10 hrs. a day. We talked a lot. They learned manners, what to do with a book, and how to be a friend to everyone. I have a BA in English and taught Reading a short time a while ago also. I enjoyed, very much watching their personalities emerge around their feelings of security in my presence. We also enjoyed "working on many many projects with paper, glue, leaves, sticks, yarn and whatever else they were interested in. Lots of paints and crayons. Lots of little box art. Especially spent lots of time outdoors in the yard, and on walks. I also tailored activities for children who didn't want to participate in any activity we were doing. I am careful to encourage a clean-up time as part of any activity. I always helped the children to do this also.
