Hi there! My name is Andrea, and I have been working with both special needs and neurotypical kids, for 10 years. I've worked as an inclusion aide for the YMCA of San Diego County both for summer camp, and in after school care. I also worked for San Diego Unified School District for 3 years as an aide in mod/severe special needs classrooms, and as extra support for mild/mod kids who were in mainstream classes. I have been working privately for families in Austin since I moved back in 2020. I'm currently looking for full time employment as a caregiver or nanny. Andrea has been working with my special needs son (both at our home and in the community) for almost a year. In that time, she has forged a strong bond with him and our family. Andrea has an energetic, positive attitude and it's obvious that her experience working in schools serves her well when working with families. When Andrea first started working with my son, she set up a communication book for him and it has been a game-changer! He is so much better at communicating his wants, needs and feelings - I can't imagine how we would survive without it. Andrea is a caring person who loves children and it's clear within moments of meeting her that helping children and their families is her true passion!
