After interviewing so many candidates, we knew Andjela was “the one” very quickly into her half-day trial run. Andjela immediately showed energy and warmth toward our 6-month old daughter, which made our daughter warm-up to her much quicker than she did with anyone else. Initially our biggest worry was sleep. Our daughter was an epically bad sleeper, and fought every nap for most of her life up to that point. But Andjela was undaunted, and always approached our daughter with the warmth and patience necessary to get our daughter to take the naps she always needed so badly. Our daughter has always loved to be outside, though often resisted strollers, which is one of the most common ways to take babies outside. She never wanted to feel “constrained” and wanted to be carried facing outward, so we got a carrier for that. Even though it must have been heavy when our daughter was 12-18 months old, Andjela always seemed happy to take our daughter for long walks around the neighborhood in the carrier, and eventually got her to accept the stroller too (though still not when she’s with Mama and Dada…). Andjela would spend hours outside every day, rain or shine. Andjela was adaptable and happy to help, arrived on time, and was always making our daughter laugh. Not just giggles either, but big belly laughs! I never doubted Andjela’s ability to keep our daughter safe and happy, nor did I ever doubt how much Andjela truly cared for our daughter.
