My experience comes from a collection of clinical & non-clinical nursing roles, and volunteer work, supplemented with many years of looking after my now 21-yr old, awesome niece, diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder at age three. I have no formal training for my special needs folks, but plenty of experience supporting families. I do prefer to meet first with the friends & families. I think it's important to address any questions, concerns & expectations, so that everyone can be on the same page.
