I am a very active and caring retired grandmother. I was born in Costa Rica, but have lived in US for 45 years. I have raised two children, I am fully bilingual English - Spanish. Before retiring I worked for many years as a Manager at Sofitel Hotel in Redwood, California. I also worked at Chase Manhattan headquarters in New York City. I have helped care for my two active grandchildren as well as my nephew, all of school age now. As of late, I was the nanny of an adorable and loving baby girl who was 8 months when I met her and now 15 months. I love newborns. I understand they need love and attention and that they have special needs. I love the outdoors and do all kind of activities when taking care of toddlers. I am a strong advocate for education and I encourage physical activity and mental fitness. I also have an affinity for organization and I like to show children how to be organized and responsible.

Ana was a FANTASTIC nanny to my daughter, E., for the eight months we were lucky enough to have her. She became a close friend and family. If we needed last minute baby-sitting, she was always so happy to help and watch both my girls (1 & 3). She was truly a lifesaver and made being a mom less stressful and more manageable. She knew my girls so well and knew what they would like and she would come with a plan and activities even if they didn't get to them she was always thinking about the girls needs. She is very caring, reliable, trustworthy, motivated, and able to care for the child like she was family. She understands that all children and families have different needs and requirements and she was proactive to ask the right questions. She anticipated our needs; it was an amazing skill and a wonderful help. She is very attentive to E.'s growth and development--mentally, emotionally, and physically. When Ana started E. wasn't even crawling and by the time she left she was running around the playground. She was fully engaged when she was with E. and would be right on the floor with her playing, singing, dancing and reading to her. She would take her to the park and library and have picnics whenever the weather was nice. Being a work from home mom it was great to have some quiet time in the house to get work accomplished. She was also a tremendous help for naps. E. nursed exclusively (refused bottles) and Ana had the magic touch to get her to sleep and stay asleep. That was such a burden lifted off my shoulders. Weaning is so so hard and she made me have less anxiety. I would recommend Ana for any nanny position. She is a wonderful person with a huge capacity to love the children she is caring for. The children feel it and always run to her like she's their grandmother. The next family will be lucky to get such a loving dedicated nanny.
