Amy seems like a great person! She reached out to me on Care.com after viewing my posting and after a few messages, we exchanged phone numbers. Amy provided references immediately which made her an even more attractive candidate to care for our little one. I was able to speak with the mother of two children that Amy worked for and was very impressed at what I learned. After communicating further with Amy via phone, we decided to meet Amy in person at our house and she seemed professional, caring, and honest. We agreed to engage Amy in a trial run to watch our little one for 3 days during the following week. We agreed to pay her at a lower rate since it was a trial week and we didn't require many of the services that she could provide such as transporting our bundle of joy to activities and food preparation. She was honest about her upbringing, current job, and family which I definitely admired! We were very excited to take the next steps with her caring for our little one so we gave her a tour of the house and I gave her a tutorial on how to change our little one since we use cloth diapers and a diaper service. We met Amy Thursday evening and agreed to use her for the following trial week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday as the posting stated. Saturday Amy sent me a text stating that she didn't feel comfortable working for a trial week at $12/hr so unfortunately we weren't able to use her but I'm sure she will find a great match with another family because she really did seem like a winning choice!
