About Amy

I'm a 57 yr old mom and grandmother with 40+ years of experience loving on children. I'm an open- hearted, agreeable person and children trust me easily because I love them! I raised and homeschooled our 6 children, taught language arts, music, & drama in our homeschool coop. I am also a lactation consultant. I began caring for infants at age 14. After college I got married & became a career nanny for 4 years until we began our own family. My approach to childcare is rooted in nurturing. I build a trusting relationship by affirming and enjoying the child. I believe in patience, light heartedness, while being their leader so they can feel secure. I enjoy going on walks or taking the children to the park or beach if the parents are comfortable with that. (I've taught many children how to swim.) I can help with cooking, light housekeeping, & laundry. I can grocery shop, run errands, take children to appointments or play dates. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Our family just adored Amy. We had four kids ages 5, 7, 9, and 11 at the time that Amy worked with us.. My family was going through a very rough time and Amy was so very nurturing to each one of the children. She was able to be of such great help to me as a mother that needed another set of loving arms in our home. She taught the older ones the joys of cooking healthy meals. I never learned this so it was truly a blessing that Amy was able to give to our family and to this day my kids are excellent at meal planning and love to cook. Amy has the most loving and patient heart towards children I have ever known. She treats each child with such understanding and listens to their needs and readily meets them with creative answers that make being around her very magical. Amy is also an amazing communicator and was always great at filling me in on the daily achievements of each child in her care so I could not miss a moment. We all still keep in contact. I highly recommend Amy to anyone.
