I would never try to hold a young woman back from pursuing her graduate education, BUT- losing Nanny Mya (as my children affectionately call her) has been catastrophic. Granted, I was able to finish my doctorate because of her presence, but I don't want to let her go! She's amazing! She could somehow get my children fed, in the tub, then in the bed (with a story) 5 mins before bedtime AND they would stay all night. My only caveat against hiring her is that your children will know how mediocre a parent you are.
