About Amber

Hi! My name is Amber and I'm a student at Montclair State University studying Psychology in hopes to become a school guidance counselor! My love of children comes from my experience working with them throughout the summers as a lifeguard at my home pool in Connecticut. I have served as a lifeguard for six years and supervisor at the town pools for four of those six. Throughout the summer I work closely with all age groups to teach swim lessons, lead activities and ensure the safety of all children at the pool. I have taken classes focusing on childhood development and have even taught classes to preschoolers through a program offered in my high school. I have babysat multiple children including those with Down syndrome and Autism and have been told my calm presence keeps rowdy children under control. I also love love love having a blast with kids doing anything from crafts to playing at the park or pool or even just sitting down and reading a book or watching a movie!
