About Amber

I have a life long passion for animals. This passion drove me to obtain my Bachelor's in Animal Science in May 2016. I currently have 1 dog, two cats, a gecko, 2 guinea pigs, and several fish including pea puffers and a Chinchilla that are a part of our family. I worked in veterinary clinics for over 2 years which lead me to work as a veterinary assistant for Aspca animal poison control for 5 years. I have experience in administering medications and enrichment activities. I am also open to looking after farm animals and exotics as I have some and I have experience with farm animals during my time at U of I. I also did home care with seniors and people with disabilities several years ago when my son was young. I did that for 2-3 years before going back to school. I enjoyed taking care of and connecting with the people that I was caring for and miss it. I ran errands, doctor visits, assistance in the house such as showering and did house cleaning and other household tasks.
