In my 20s while attending Shimer College (a Great Books College), I worked with 2nd and 3rd graders as a volunteer for Open Books, a non-profit working towards developing literacy skills in Chicago. I have also tutored younger family members in math. I currently am maintaining a 3. 48 GPA at Triton College while working through my pre-requisites for the nursing program and finishing my environmental science associates degree. I enjoy learning and teaching people at the place they are at in their education and understanding. One of my greatest enjoyments in the teaching process is the pride and confidence people develop in themselves as they master skills.
