I have been a sitter since I was in middle school, working in the Sunday School nursery for infants and toddlers. From there, I sat for several church families during date nights. During my twenties I volunteered as a reading buddy for 2nd and 3rd graders at Open Books, a non-profit literacy program in Chicago. As my friends and family have had children, I've assisted them with childcare as well. I do not currently have children, but being able to help the next generation grow and develop in a safe, caring environment is a goal I think all adults should strive for.
