Hello, my name is Amber and I worked as an aide in healthcare for 10 years, spending time intermittently as a part time mentor. My kid brother is autistic and schizoaffective bipolar, so I've spent my life in the company of those with a range of special needs and abilities. The best aspect of personal and professional roles has always been relationship building, promoting life enrichment and independence, and getting to know everyone on an empathetic level. I had the pleasure of volunteering in the Life Skills classroom in HS, I've held a few positions as a mentor to special needs adults, and I've personally gone through the process and trials of caring for my own brother and trying to find him the best living, occupation, and influence to help him actualize the most confident, content, and high functioning version of himself. Now that I'm a parent looking to reinvest in others once again, an ideal position would allow me to care for my little one alongside the client.
