About Amaya

I am in my fourth and final year at IU studying elementary education so I really enjoy being around kids and helping them out with whatever they need! I have several semesters of experience working with children in a school setting where I not only presented different lessons and helped them educationally, but I worked on managing the behaviors of students within the classroom and keeping them engaged in fun ways. I also have a summer of experience where I babysat a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. I watched and played with them outside or at the park when the weather was warmer. For the last 2 years, I worked for Monroe County Community School Corporation as a before and after school supervisor. During this job I would play indoor or outdoor games with a large group of students as they were brought into school and picked up from school. Currently, I am student teaching in a first grade classroom. I work with many students ages 6 and 7 and I find so much joy in helping them grow!
