About Amanda

I am a licensed Special Education with close to 25 years experience. Comfortable teaching reading and writing , K-12. I live in Charlottesville. I am available to tutor in the afternoons and on the weekends. Look forward to hearing from you. I'd describe my personality as flexible, reliable, and easygoing. I like tutoring because it's one of the most effective ways to teach new skills. I'm looking for a job that is flexible. I have a full time job. I am hoping to tutor a few hours a week I started tutoring several years ago for a company in town, then took a break in 2021. I private tutored two students since, one high schooler in writing and one elementary student in reading. In my spare time, I like to run, listen to music, travel, and socialize with friends. One thing you should know about me is I am very flexible when it comes to learning. My skills include organization, scaffolding concepts, and understanding accommodations when it comes to learning.
