I have 8+ years of experience working with individuals with physical disabilities. Prior to my 8 years working one on one with individuals with disabilities, I worked at Hospital for 5 years and provided care for patients with short gut syndrome, and have expertise working with colostomy bags and g/j tubes. Extensive experience with G/J tube care and mobility issues such as paraplegia and other muscular disorders. 8 years experience working with communication devices such as Eye Gaze, switch access communicators and other programs. Familiar with specialized mobility equipment such as walkers, gait trainers, standers, positioning tools and devices, AFO's, communication devices and more. Medication administration and feeding via G/J tube. 2 years of experience working with elementary age children providing Educational assistance. CPR/First Aid certified. Emergency medication including those for seizures, allergies, and glucose monitoring. Transfers, toileting and ADL's.
