About Amanda

I'd describe my personality as happy, outgoing, positive. I like working with kids because it brings me joy to watch them discover the world and all its intricacies. I'm looking for a job that allows me to make a positive impact on someone. When I was 16 I began babysitting my cousins 4 kids (two of them being under 2) every Saturday for 2 years. In college I began environmental education, teaching at various nonprofits and government agencies. In my past I have designed and implemented over 50+ STEM activites for kids aged 4-18 and taken thousands of kids on field trips. In my spare time, I like to be outside. I love to go on hikes, fish, and go birdwatching. In my backyard I have a garden I tend to. One thing you should know about me is I have a passion for education. I love to encourage kids to ask questions about their surroundings, to figure out the "why" behind the way things are. My skills include STEM education, teaching emotional regulation, and staying positive.
