In college, my friend needed a full-time nanny to care for her 2 1/2-year-old, and I knew I'd found my calling. I love kids - I love the way their minds work, I love getting to see them grow. I had excellent parents who provided a safe and happy childhood for me, and being able to pass that experience on to other children is the most rewarding thing I can think of. I attended college for Early Childhood Education until I was forced to drop out for medical reasons. The children I have cared for have struggled with autism, ADHD, speech delay, and other difficulties. Having faced disability myself, I generally work well with them. I have a passion for education and adventure, and that passion figures prominently in my childcare style; I prefer to teach children, rather than command them. I'm a long-time member of The Museum Center, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the Newport Aquarium.
