About Amanda

I'd describe my personality as kind, thoughtful, and witty. I like working with kids because it is incredibly rewarding work, childhood is such a special time in a person's life. I'm looking for a job that has a reliable schedule and flexibility. I started working with kids when I was a summer camp counselor for the Sewickley YMCA during 2022, but had been a Resident Assistant at Duquesne University for two years. Many of the skills from that position can be applied to childcare, such as mediating conflicts, creating exciting activities, and how to react during emergencies. In my spare time, I like to be around my pets, read, listen to music, and go on adventures with my friends and family. One thing you should know about me is that I got my Master's Degree in Psychology of Mental Health at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. It was an incredibly formative experience that I believe makes me unique. My skills include planning activities, communication, and attentiveness.
