Hello! My name is Amanda, and I have been working with children for over 25 years. For almost 3 years, I have worked for an amazing family in North Austin. My contract will be ending in September, and I will be looking to start another full-time position the beginning of October. I previously worked as a nanny for 4 1/2 years with wonderful family in Northwest Austin. Prior to that, I worked at a charter school for 2 and 1/2 years where I taught reading, writing, math and science to children aged Pre-K to 3nd grade. The 7 years before that, I was a lead teacher in a preschool classroom. I have nanny experience working with infants as young as two days old. I have also had experience teaching children ages 6 weeks old through middle school in a classroom setting. I am a certified public school librarian. I had the opportunity of working with Amanda as a full-time assistant in the charter school library where I was employed. The elementary school was grades PreK through 5th grade, but shortly changed to a PreK through 1st grade campus. Amanda ran the library of PreK through 1st on her own under my limited supervision. She taught skills that supported the approved curriculum, created lessons, and taught author studies daily. She scheduled activities and events for the campus and did an amazing job. The staff and students loved her! I would not hesitate in recommending Amanda for any job working with children.
